A picture of the Hartford sign, which was gifted to the Village by Tom Birtwisle in 1971. The sign is painted in black and silver and features an image of a hart, or stag, crossing a river. The sign is edged with oak leaves and acorns.

Hartford Civic Society award winner is featured on BBC Breakfast

Hartford Civic Society’s Civic Awards were launched earlier this year to recognise the many wonderful individuals and organisations who help to make our village an even better place.
