Can you help?
As a non-profit making charity, Hartford Civic Society is always looking for support - and it doesn't need to cost you anything - we appreciate donations, but we are equally grateful for your time, your experience, your skills, and your knowledge.
Do you have photographs of Hartford that you would be willing to share? Can you contribute ideas for future village improvement projects, or offer us some professional advice? Could you help us to deliver a few newsletters whilst you are out walking the dog? Could you be persuaded to join one of our monthly litter picks? Would you like to assist with some bulb planting, or help us to water the hanging baskets?
If you would like to support us financially, it costs just £7 per year for a single adult membership, or £10 for two adult members in the same household. Junior membership (for under 16s) costs just £2.
Joining us as a supporter
If you would like to become one of our supporters, membership runs from 1st April each year. The Society prefers payment of subscriptions by Standing Order as this reduces the amount of work for us at renewal time. Standing Orders can be cancelled at any time. If you prefer to pay by cheque please make it payable to "Hartford Civic Society". Further payment information is provided on the membership form, which you can download by clicking on the link below. If it's easier for you to pay online, you can link to our payment page here.
Our Story

Hartford Civic Society came into being in 2003 when Hartford Village Trust, which was founded in 1996, was renamed. The Society is a registered charity, and our aims are to improve the village of Hartford and to help protect its identity.
Subscriptions from Supporters help with our work, but more funding comes from grants, the Village Lottery, donations and legacies. We have a committee of Trustees who identify opportunities to make improvements to the village and consider projects that are proposed by others. Most of our supporters live in Hartford, although we also receive donations from former residents and others who are connected to the village and want to support our work.
Hartford Civic Society is usually able to respond rapidly when there's an opportunity to make improvements to the village. As a charity that is funded by its supporters and run by volunteers, we are able to act quickly and make contributions - providing the purposes are charitable and align with the objectives of the Society.
We liaise closely with Hartford Parish Council, Cheshire West and Chester Council, and other local authorities, to ensure that our activities complement and do not duplicate, or conflict with other local initiatives.
